Big Claims, little post.
I know, but to be fair they all start out as quick, little posts – I just can’t seem to stop talking.
Anyway, this guide will help you make gold during ALL the major WoW holidays. That’s right, every single one.
How to boost your Gold-Making efforts during a holiday event
This might have been over-hyped, but: DON’T DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY. Yep. Don’t stockpile, don’t target any niche markets, don’t camp any farming spots, just stay the same. Here’s why:
While these fabulous WoW holidays might offer many new and exciting opportunities, there is one thing they definitely can’t offer more of – time. While everyone else is running around preoccupied by the holiday quests and the holiday events and the limited time holiday gold-making opportunities, guess what is being neglected? Their regular markets. I’m sure everyone will jump in and talk about how little effort THEIR particular strategy takes, or how they have their routine on autopilot and are able to keep everything going exactly the same, but the fact of the mater is that unless they are able to increase the amount of time they spend, something’s gotta give. Between monitoring additional markets, posting additional items, opening additional mail, etc,. all of these “little” tasks start to add up. I can guarantee you that holiday events create neglected areas in regular markets, one way or another.
The other two points I will make for not going all “holiday-crazy” is an increase in demand and less effort in your regular markets. Holidays increase traffic, that’s a given, but what you might not necessarily think about is that people won’t usually just log in and complete the holiday quests/events and log out. Some of them even require players to wait or to pursue certain items or tasks that bring them into contact with other facets of the game, such as the AH, or Trade Chat. More people running around Azeroth means more opportunity for sales, plain and simple.
The final advantage you will have if you don’t change anything up for the holidays is that it’s easier. Zero extra effort required. The same markets that you work every day, the same familiar mats, the same familiar addon windows. It might be easier for some, but changing gears will always require additional effort, even if it is only mentally – change WILL take it’s toll on people. Especially if they come back to a neglected routine that needs even more effort to get back on track.
That’s it. Simple, but effective. Push your same markets over the holidays and take advantage of all the opportunities those “holiday goblins” are leaving for you.
